With such a wide variety of GU10 lamps available on the market sometimes it can be hard determine exactly which lamp is right for the job.
GU10 LED lamps typically come in three light outputs either Warm White 2800 / Cool White 4000 / Daylight 6500 the difference is quite significant so it is important to pick the correct color temperature to get the desired effect in your home or office.
Warm White : 2800 temperature
The light output offers more red hues giving the appearance of a warmer light, perfect for home lighting
Cool White : 4000 temperature
Slightly more blueish hue, light appears cleaner and crisper, ideal for offices, retail and restaurants
Daylight : 6500 temperature
Light contains high blue hues giving the appearance of a very stark light output, recommended for industrial and outdoor applications
Light temperature is not the only thing you need to consider when replacing your GU10 lamps, wattage and lumen output are also key factors to take on board. GU10 LED lamps come in a range of wattages typically from 3W to 10W. The higher the wattage then generally the higher lumen output of the lamp.
4W - 5W LED Lamps
Generally these are lower powered lamps with an output of 200-300 lumens depending on the manufacturer, great for homes and especially large kitchens with plenty GU10 fixtures spreading the light over the space, see our best selling 4.5W led gu10 lamp here
6W - 7W LED Lamps
Often dimmable, these lamps have a greater output of 400-500 lumens, closer to a traditional 50W halogen lamp they are used in homes and offices where the light fixtures are limited and a greater output is needed by each light. Take a look at the award winning Megaman 6w gu10 lamp here
